It is a historical place with a lot to offer. It
is where local artist come and line the sidewalks and fences with their
original artwork. It is kind of like a walk-through art show but outdoors. The art
work ranges from oil paintings of famous New Orleans landmarks to unique
imaginative drawings. Here are some of the artist that can be found in Jackson
Square:
Lee Tucker
Lee Tucker is a visual artist/photographer who has had
exhibits in the U.S. and England. Learn more at leetuckerart.com
Elaine Cummins
Elaine Cummins parents were Jackson Square artists. She has
done many forms of art like forms of art like painting t-shirts and dresses, but
her favorite is canvas.
C.C Miranda
C.C Miranda has been a Jackson Square artist since 2001. She
specializes in oils, acrylic and watercolor in a variety of styles ranging from
realism to abstract surrealism.
Miriam Ragan
Miriam Ragan has been painting in the New Orleans French
Quarter for over 30 years, and has been available during this time to painting
customers and art lovers on Jackson Square. She has done paintings of customers
on Jackson Square but most of her artwork is of Louisiana swamps, New Orleans
and French Quarter scenes. She also likes paintings of floral still life’s and
southern flowers (magnolia). Miriam’s style of art is in oil and watercolor.
Andrew Wilkie
Andrew loves using unique personalities to tell
stories-often the people and their stories hail from New Orleans. His large
scale portraits play with pigments and varied textures.
