New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA)

The New Orleans Art Museum (NOMA), is New Orleans oldest fine art institution. It was opened on December 16, 1911 with only 9 works of art and today holds an impressive permanent collection of  almost 40,000 objects. The collection includes French and American art, African and Japanese work, photography, glass, and much more. The Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden at NOMA is considered one of the most important sculpture installations in the US, with over 60 sculptures.


Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) New Orleans

The Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) was formed in 1976 by a group of visual artists. They started the movement to remove the division between visual and preforming art was active nationwide. According to cacno.org the mission of the Contemporary Arts Center is, "A multidisciplinary arts center that is dedicated to the presentation, production, and promotion of the art of our time."

Royal Street is primarily known for their authentic/local artists and performers. It is also a glorious mix of antiques, boutiques, fine jewelry stores, colorful art galleries, and classy hotels and restaurants.
